The Finance & Administration Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, overseeing and performing a wide variety of finance, administrative and program support activities at Goodwill Northern Michigan. The position also is responsible for general office support tasks for the GINMI Administrative Office in Traverse City.


  • Prepare and process accounts receivable entries.
  • Record & post deposits.
  • Prepare month end statements
  • Verify and prepare the retail activity for posting and update associated documents.
  • Maintain monthly excel accounting worksheets and databases.
  • Maintain Grant worksheets for invoicing.
  • Prepare month end reports as assigned.
  • Accounts payable vendor maintenance.

General Office Support:

  • Occasionally screen and handle general telephone communications as well as greet office visitors.
  • Handle purchasing and maintenance of all general office supplies.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Assist or prepare correspondence as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned in support of Finance team responsibilities.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Degree in finance or business preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Excellent MS Excel skills, including the use of pivot tables.
  • Experience with RMS Point of Sales software systems preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office (esp. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint)
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting principles and budgeting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to create, compose and edit written materials.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.
  • Solid time-management abilities with the ability to prioritize tasks and perform comfortably with multiple interruptions
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
